The Alba Delivery Model

Our delivery model combines decades of propagation expertise with modern logistics and sustainability practices. Whether you are planting a single woodland strip or managing a large-scale habitat creation project, you can rely on Alba to supply consistently high-quality trees, on time and in excellent condition.

We manage the full process in-house:

Propagation

Our trees are grown from carefully selected seed and nurtured in peat-free growing media.

Quality Control

Every plant is inspected and graded to our own strict standards before dispatch.

Biosecurity

We maintain robust controls at every stage to prevent the spread of pests and diseases.

Logistics

Orders are planned, packed & dispatched by our team using efficient delivery methods.

Aftercare

Customers receive practical guidance to support successful planting, establishment and long-term survival.

The Process

Once we receive an order, our grading team carefully selects the best available stock. Each batch is graded by hand, ensuring uniformity, quality and fitness for purpose.

The completed order is collated by our Dispatch Team, taking account of species mix, planting location and any special requirements before being prepared for delivery.

Biosecurity

Plant health is central to everything we do.

We operate rigorous on-site protocols, including:

  • Biosecurity wash stations at all entry and exit points
  • Vehicle wash facilities for all nursery traffic
  • A bespoke Alba bag washer allowing returned planting bags to be disinfected and reused safely

Dispatch and Delivery

We can deliver anything from one tree to 72,000 in a single load.

Our flexible logistics network allows us to scale efficiently to meet customer needs, using:

  • Artic Lorry: up to 72,000 trees per load
  • Rigid Lorry: up to 50,000 trees
  • Pallet Delivery: via Palletways for medium consignments
  • Parcel Delivery: via FedEx or Royal Mail for smaller orders

Large deliveries are made in Alba reusable bags, which we collect and recycle once planting is complete as part of our Enhanced Recycling Service. Pallet and parcel deliveries are packed securely in recyclable boxes to protect the trees in transit.

With three nursery sites in East Lothian and strong haulage partnerships across the UK, we offer reliable lead times and national coverage from small private estates to large-scale reforestation projects.

Advisory Support

Our team provides species selection guidance and technical aftercare advice to ensure the best outcomes for every project.

We work with clients to optimise survival rates, tailor species to local conditions and align planting plans with environmental and sustainability objectives.

This hands-on advisory approach helps landowners, contractors and developers achieve both ecological and commercial success.
